Commonly used in tiling and flooring, paneling, window sealing, stonework, and counter tops. Use to fill voids in a joint creating an airtight and watertight seal. Providing a filled gap that can be finished with caulk or silicone.

Neolon Backing Rod is manufactured out of Neolon, a closed-cell chemically cross-linked polyethylene foam. They are extensively used in the building and construction industry as a backer/bond breaker rod for sealants in expansion joint sealing applications.

Backing rod should be installed at a depth of 2 to 1 with a minimum depth of 6mm and a maximum depth of 12mm.
For best compression and a secure hold, the backing rod should be about 3mm in diameter than the gap or joint to be filled.

Our backer rods have a premium Neolon XPE closed-cell foam structure, which ensures the backing rod is waterproof and weatherproof, fire retardant, and make it non-adherent to prevent three-sided adhesion when creating a three-walled joint.
