Unlike traditional acoustic foams with open-cell structures that absorb moisture, Stratocell® Whisper® features a closed-cell design. It resists water while preventing sound reverberation, making it waterproof, washable, and highly effective in damp environments.

Sound Absorption Coefficient (α) (Internal Sound Absorption):
This measures how much sound is absorbed by a material compared to how much hits it at a specific frequency.
It ranges from 0 (no absorption) to 1 (total absorption).
A Sound Absorption Coefficient (α) of 1 represents 100% absorption.
R 1/3 Octave dB (Transmission Loss): Reduction of Decibels (dB) at specific frequencies.
You can see the results of Whisper foam at different frequencies in the graph.
Stratocell® Whisper® foam is specifically made to absorb noise indoors and outdoors. Manufactured unlike any other foam, Stratocell® Whisper® is a closed cell foam with very large cells that are punctured with thousands of pin holes. Sound can no longer reverberate from or into the area the foam has been installed.
Stratocell® Whisper® acoustic foam effectively reduces noise from generators, AC enclosures, machine rooms, and engine bays. Its flame-retardant variant, Stratocell® Whisper® FR, withstands air temperatures up to 90°C, ensuring safety and performance.
In commercial spaces like bars and restaurants, limited ceiling height can amplify noise, disrupting the guest experience. Ceiling-mounted Stratocell® Whisper® foam rafts absorb sound while enhancing the space’s visual appeal. Adjusting the void distance (space between the ceiling and foam) optimizes sound absorption across various frequencies.
